Course Objective

Acquire the basic knowledge and understanding of the Incident attributable to human factors/human error:

• Understanding of Murphy’s Law, human performance and limitations

• Understanding of Social Psychology; Peer pressure, culture issues

• Understanding of factors affecting performance; Time pressure, deadlines, workload, sleep, fatigue, shiftwork; Alcohol, medication

• Understanding of Physical Environment; Noise, temperature, Motion, vibration and Working environment

• Understanding of Error models and theories, communication, tasks

• Understanding of Hazards in the Workplace

Course Content

The need to take Human Factors into account, Incident attributable to human factors/ human error, Murphy’s Law (General):

• Human Performance and Limitations

• Social Psychology

• Factors Affecting Performance

• Physical Environment

• Tasks

• Communication

• Human error; Error models and theories; Types of error in maintenance tasks; Implications of errors (i.e. accidents)

• Hazards in the Workplace

Training is in English. Participants should have basic comprehension of the English language.

Exam & Certification

• Course is approved by the Knowledge & Human Development Authority (KHDA) Ministry of Dubai.
